Just checking is this RAM and MB are compatible, I was informed that they were, but after purchase I am having posting issues and I think this may be the problem.

The RAM is 240-pin DDR2 and the Mobo says that's the RAM type it takes, so it should fit in there just fine. What sort of errors are you getting POST?

I'm getting nothing. One beep and no post, no display what's so ever. Any ideas?

My only idea is that one beep is a refresh and no display can be a sign of bad memory, but I have 4 identical sticks and have tried other dims.

If you're using all 4 sticks, you should try using one stick in the first slot see if you can get it to POST. Keep doing that with the same stick for each of the RAM slots. If placing the stick in any of slots gives you another error, then it probably means that the RAM slot has issues.

If you go through all 4 RAM slots with one stick, then do the same thing with all 4 sticks individually, if one of the sticks doesn't get to POST in any of the slots then the RAM stick in question is faulty.

If you go through all 4 sticks in every combination of slot placements, then it means that either A) all of the RAM sticks are faulty, or B) all of the RAM slots on the Mobo are faulty.

Thanks, big job ahead of me. But couldn't it also mean they are incompatible?

Incompatible would mean if you're using a different generation of RAM like DDR, DDR3, or DDR4 (meaning that the connectors would be aligned differently and wouldn't even fit). Other lesser "incompatibilities" would be if you put in RAM that had a higher clock speed than your Mobo supported (which would just run your RAM at the highest speed the Mono did support), or put in a higher amount of RAM than your Mobo supports (in which case the RAM sticks wouldn't be 100% utilized).

Since the RAM is DDR2 800MHz and the Mobo says that those are the RAM specs it requires, it SHOULD work fine.

Best of luck, mate.

Thank you very much! That gives me confidence. Appreciate all the help, shall let you know if I make any progress.
