Realtek network Controller not found - Please plug Cable

I am sitting here trying to install a second pc. After the installation of windows I cannot connect to the internet. I download drivers to the motherboard on my other pc and transfer them to the new pc via USB. 3 out of 4 drivers install, the one which is called Realtek LAN doesn't. So basicly the one i need. Whenever i try to install this driver i get the error: The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable. I googled around a bit and people suggested that removing the powercable and RAM stick for a few minutes would do the trick, but it has not. The motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-P61-USB3-B3 and I am usibbg an old 2 gb dominator ram stick from corsair.

Any help is appreciated!

Did you get the drivers from gigabyte website or elsewhere?

I got them from GIGABYTE's website (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3904#dl)

Hmm, should be OK then, have you tried running it as admin?

Sadly no change

Ok, seems like it might be a windows issue then rather than driver... Are you running windows 10?

I am running windows 10 Pro 64- bit version

Cool, I have no experience of this particular problem... and have worked on hundreds of PCs. Only thing I can suggest is maybe boot into safe mode and try running the installer in there, maybe there is some kind of conflict.

No problem, just wish I had seen this at some point myself so I could suggest soemthing that I know should work

I tried booting into safe mode with no success

The installer shows the error whenever it tries to " Detect Realtek ethernet network card and cable"

Are you sure it's the correct driver then, as that seems to eb the problem to me.... did you try using the driver that came on the disc?, just rip that off the disc onto a USB from a laptop/different PC if you can.  That seems to be the best way of diagnosing this right now.
