it would be quite the improvement

a 7990 is two 7970s

a 7970 is a 280x

so think dual 280x's vs a 760.

i just splitscreen both of the spec sheets and found that the 7990 has 3x the gddr5. That will help a lot.

lower base clock, but the can be messed with, a few hundred less "cores", not a biggish difference.....

 

I'd say go for it! 

 

 

 

 

Then again I've never owned an AMD card so
