Free easy 1440p editor?

I have been using Movie Maker for years and it has worked great, but I recently got a 1440p monitor and want to step up my resolution game, but can't spend any more money because i spent it all on the monitor.

I have tried Videopad, an older piece of freeware that can export 4k for free, but i don't have a damn clue how to use it, and every singe video I've made on my channel have been just gameplay with friends and such, with text here and there, lots of splitting of the video, and some half speed slow downs or 4x speedups splattered throughout.

That's all i really need in a video editor, and Videopad is confusing with it's splitting and would like to try something else.

Any ideas or just stick to WLMM for now?
