New GPUs extend FAR beyond the HEIGHT of the PCI bracket.

 

This is a problem for some cases, but information on the height of the card isn't available - there's no way to ensure compatibility.

 

There's currently PCI, and Low-Profile PCI, but should there be a larger standard too... that would allow better GPU cooling, and you would know if your card and case conformed to that standard.

You're talking about the non-reference cards which have a custom PCB like the GTX 780 Classified, GTX 780 Lightning, etc? I think if you're buying those cards, you should have a badass case to put it in.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.
