Yes

Although I'm inclined to believe you, my 10+ years of technician experience tells me this is a boot device issue.

Does your computer start intermittently, ie: can you power cycle it and eventually it boots? Or is it permanently stating this when you power it on?

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

go into your bios (spam f2 or del right after turning on the laptop) then see if your HDD is showing up in it.

or change the boot order to boot from the hdd first

but i think you need a new hard drive /ssd whatever your laptop has seems like yours is dead/dying if it will boot sometimes but not others

Then you dont have a working boot drive connected. If you are positive all of the ca les are properly connective, the the drive is probably dead.

Alrighty, that's not a good sign. How old is your PC? Did you custom build, or is it pre-built?

And do you have a way of reading hard drives externally, like a SATA to USB adapter, or external drive enclosure?

Then do that - remove the hard drive, and hook it up to another computer using a USB to SATA adapter or enclosure.

If you still can't access it, the hard drive is dead or dying. You can then either send it out for data recovery ($$$) or move on and replace it.
