hi

 

i need a programme that i can put on usb to test a hard drive that i think has failed could anyone point me in the right direction. needs to be bootable usb from power up.

I have some Windows PEs, but I don't know a great way to send it to you.

Maybe you will be able to grab Sergei Strelec PE somewhere on the web.

And I recommend HD Tune Pro and CrystalDiskInfo for checking S.M.A.R.T. infos and bad sectors.

If you are able to include a Seagate drive in the machine they have a proprietary boot program for "DOS" feature with very good optimisation called seatools for windows

HDD Regenerator comes with Hiren's BootCD, or you can get it on it's own. It'll show you if you have bad sectors.
