My friends PC turns on and shows the motherboard name, then cuts to black and the cpu fan ramps up and then nothing happens after that, help to find a solution would be appreciated. Here are his specs: 

hyper 212 evo

fx6300

pny gtx 960 2gb

msi 760gm-p3(fx)

My Main PC:

CPUi5 3570k CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 Motherboard: Asus p8z77-v pro  RAM: Crucial Balistic 2x4gb  GPU: Two PNY GTX 680's in SLI Case: Some rando Antec one  PSU: Thermaltake 1000w  Display: HP Elite Display 321i 23''  Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 128gb, Seagate Barracuda 1tb

He did not update the bios and he did not do a fresh install of windows, it doesnt even get to the screen to tell him to go into bios

possible it could be a bad stick of ram, but trying telling him to force reset the bios using the jumper pin on the motherboard first

wouldnt just taking out the cmos and putting it back reset the bios?

NOOO don't take the CMOS out, the CMOS battery though is ok :P

well it does show the MoBo logo which is usually the place where you can go into the bios (del, f2 and f12 are common keys), on some MoBos (espcecially OEM ones) there are no onscreen instructions on how to get there
