One card shows BIOS Other shows Desktop

Hey guys I'm posting this for a friend and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix his issue. The problem he is having is he has a 970 sli set up and when he BOOTS his pc the TOP card displays BOIS and when the pc loads the DESKTOP it switches to the BOTTOM card  -.- so to get to the bios we have to switch his cable to the top card and when we want the desktop we have to move it back to the bottom card HELP?

He motherboards bios might be out of date but would that make a difference?

It sounds like to me that its just the bios prioritizing one card for boot until windows loads.  I'm pretty sure you can change what card is used in windows idk how though. Never had this issue personally.

Yea that's what I was thinking too but I didn't know how to force it to use one card for both
