Hello,

I have a really infuriating issue on my PC currently, I run a dual monitor set up and my left monitor (Both Acer S240HL's) keeps changing it's resolution from 1920x1080 to 1024x768, This can then be resolved by right clicking the desktop --> Display settings ---> Detect monitors, at which point the resolution is correctly reset. I have tried switching the cables and the connection ports to the computer for both the monitors and it has had no effect on which monitor switches (Always left).

The annoying part is that the resolution can and will change at any time, causing the screens to go black for a few moments before coming back incorrectly. Sometimes the computer will then immediately change this back again going black for a few moments. I am absolutely sick of it, it happens fairly often but mostly within the first 20 minutes of turning on my computer (Sometimes happens after that as well) and it happens frequently when attempting to install programs. This has happened since installing Windows 10, though there were no issues for a good number of months after changing to Windows 10. I have also tried re-installing Windows 10 to no avail and my graphics drivers too.

My computer set up is:

Processor: Intel  Core I5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz

RAM: 8.00 GB

GPU: NVidia GTX460

Main C Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB ATA

To be honest I'm not entirely sure if the problem is related to my graphics card.

Please ask me any questions, I really want to get this resolved after putting up with it for months.

What is the base resolution of the monitors?

How did you go about uninstalling your graphics/display drivers?

Have you tried it for even a day or two on just the iGPU?

Thanks for answering any of these.

I would have to say its very probably your graphics driver, or somehow directly related to that. But if you have uninstalled and reinstalled that (and/or done a fresh windows 10 install) I can't see how that would be the issue unless you somehow made a mistake in one of these processes.

Sorry I can't be of much help xD

1) I think the base resolution is 1920 x 1080 (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/PH/content/model/ET.LU50D.013)

2) I used the add or remove programs function to remove it and then reinstalled it, but I also had to install it again when installing a completely fresh windows 10 install

3) I have not tried that, though for a time I had a third monitor connected to the iGPU which ran on a 1280x720 resolution. (I can't remember if the issue started before or after that)
