ableton and background

I know how to produce decent drums but Im having a hard time finding good ways to make creative backgrounds. Do most people normally use layered synths for this or..? Sorry Im new to producing so excuse me if i sound noobish. Thanks for the tips!

for backgrounds, if i understand correctly, you can add crashes at less volume for them to be hearable, but so they dont steal the show. So you bought the launchpad of the keyboard?

yea i have the launchkey mini. I mean in the background like the melody

What really helps me produce is, when you finish bathing for example, close the water, and hear the music that the droplets make when they drop. Each producer has his way to find ideas.

I can make good backgrounds with these but I want some that are more unique, do they have packs just containing these?

Ohhhhh, yes! there are LOOOOOOTS of "samples" as they are called, scattered all over the internet. Most are paid to download,but there are some free floating around.

I know quite a bit about samples but Im hesitant to buy because idk if it will come with exactly what I want. Sample packs have a ton hats,kicks,etc. but what I want are different pads,synth sounds, etc. That I can make the actual song out of not including drums.

no soundcloud, since i work for friends and family that want some music for a presentation or something. I am prepping a song, but high school life is keeping me busy at all times.
