Need help big time

So finally built my new pic and I was so happy and my friend gave me a key with Windows 8.1 (acquired most likely not legally but that's not it he runs that on his pc) and basically during the download the pic had turned off due to a power out now I can't use the key to download it anymore as it won't recognise it, even when I try on another key it won't recognise it. 

 

I need to to know what to do I can get into the bios but that's it it won't let me restart the download and I'm a noob to all the computer stuff

In the bios under boot drives, does the usb show up?

My bios my bios is not a normal one, it shows up that I can use it as a boot option ? If that's what you mean ?

1. What motherboard are you using?

 

2. In the bios there should be a menu saying boot, and boot order or something related to that.

 

3. Are you using the USB directly on the motherboard? or Front panel? - if its front panel try swapping it to a usb port directly on the motherboard.

 

4. Is the usb USB 3? Try to only use USB 2 on both ends (motherboard and USB)

1. Gigabyte h110m s2h

2.there is a -bios features-boot option priorities- that is all that is in relation to boot drives 

3.ive tried both

Yes the sub shows up there aswell as my hdd

Then set the USB as priority and boot up the pc with your usb plugged in.

It worked up until the preparation of files for installation and then it came up cannot instal because some files couldn't be found but early before it turned off it worked fine

The USB could be corrupt.

Are you able to get another copy?

Yeah sounds like somethings messed up with the USB or the windows media. Get a different USB and download the 8.1 media off the microsoft website.

I'm gonna try get a Windows 7 from a friend but I have to wait for it to download I'll update when I try it but it might be tomorrow

Well dont you have a windows 8.1 Key? (activation code)
