Hi all,

I'm planning to use this cooler in my build with a Gigabyte Gaming 3 ATX board and a Gigabyte gtx1070 WF Edition. It will be a in a Max Game Silent Gaming case (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Max-Silent-Proofed-Gaming/dp/B017LXAEPO).

However, I read this from a review of the cooler on TweakTown:

"However, if there is anything to be aware of with this cooler choice, it is the possibility of encroaching upon the first PCI-e slot. Make sure that if you have to populate the first PCI-e slot, the card does not have a back plate, otherwise they will be rubbing, vibrating, and potentially making noise as they touch each other."

Anyone know if I will experience the issue as noted in the review? If so, is there a problem by simply moving the cpu to a lower pci-e slot?

Thanks.

p.s. FAO mods, not sure if this should go in the Build Planning sub-forum. If it should, please move it for me, thanks.

what mobo model to be more precise? there are a lot of Gaming 3 mobos from GigaByte

and from what I could find, the 1st slot is a 1x slot

the 2nd slot is the PEG, 16x - so there's enough room for the cooler not to hit the back of the video card

should be OK as 1st PCIe slot is 1x and you put the video card in the 2nd PCIe slot, the 16x

ps: if you have the board, you can build yourself a origami to see if if fits: http://www.cryorig.com/images/tester/h5-universal/h5-universal_socket_115x.pdf
