My future rig

Ok so these are the parts I'm going to be using for my next build do you guys have any suggestions on optimizing it while not letting the cost go too much above $1700 usd it's currently at $1661.

 

Case - Corsair Carbide series 100 Silent Edition

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-z170-SLI LGA1511

GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 170

PSU - Corsair RMX 850W 80 Plus Gold

CPU - i7 6700 8M skylark

Storage - Samsung 850 Pro 256GB +120GB SSD's, WD Blue 3TB HDD

Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4

OEM - Windows 10 Pro

Fans - Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm Red LED Silent Fans ×4

Sound card - ASUS XONAR DSX 7.1 channels PCI-E Audio card

That's overkill, a 550w or 650w would do fine

What about with the storage? Is that a good config, I'm going to use the 120GB as the boot ssd and the 256GB for games and such and the 3TB as mass storage. Should I stick with that or just get 1 ssd tgat is bigger than both the small ones.

A few things:

1. A sound card is unnecessary if you use headphones or speakers

2.  If you get a z170 board, then get a 6700K or any other compatible CPU with a "K"

3. PSU is wayyy overkill for those parts

I think you have a nice storage plan. but if you get a 120 gig for just a boot drive, you mind as well get one with lower space as win10 only takes up >10 gigabytes.

Ok if I swap to the 6700k what cooler do you guys recommend that is low cost high efficiency? Cause my primary reason for getting the 6700 is it comes with a cooling unit, the k is bare
