Hello Linustechtips community,

It is my first time posting something and I really appreciate your attention and support.

Now to the topic: I have an old Acer Z3750 All-in-one Computer and I was wanting to now, if I could take the internals and place them into a different case. You are probably thinking why I am intending to do that? Well I bought this Computer in Germany and I moved to Canada a couple of weeks ago. Because of that the computer will not run anymore since the voltages are different (in europe 220-230 V and northamerica 110 V) and frequencies are different (in europe 60 hz and northamerica 50 hz).

It is a shame that it won't work anymore, but I was thinking of reusing the internals. Now this is the main question I have:

Is it possible to take the internals (motherboard, processor intel core i5 650, 8 gb of Ram, Raedon 6450 graphicscard and harddrive) from my Acer All-in-one pc and put them into a new case with a new powersupply?

Again, thank you very much for your attention. I really appreciate it.

Have a great week.

Sincerely,

Eric06

I don't think you can reuse the MoBo, as it is usually designed by the OEM and designed for that system only. Also, if you were to buy a MoBo that actually fits that CPU, good luck. I would just get a new system altogether.

Check the psu, you may well be able to plug into N.Am. power with the appropriate cable. Most modern psu are either auto sensing or have a switch. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-power-supplies/2/. But if the one in the Acer Z3750 is neither, you can probably buy a replacement psu for the unit.

Edit: you may need to open the case to find the switch on the plug end of the psu.
