Hello, it is my first time building a computer, and it will not start. When the system fan is plugged in no fans spin, when it is not plugged in processor and graphics card fans spin. But nothing shows on the screen. None of my leds light up and there are no beeps to indicate a problem. Does anyone here know what might be wrong? Thanks.

Are you sure that your power supply is on ? I know thats a stupid question, but I forget it myself few times. And are you sure that your power button cables and the other really tiny cables are plugged in in the right connector ?

So you cannot get the machine to post? i would first check all of the cables and connections, make sure everything is plugged in. there should be a 6+2 PCIE cable plugged into your gpu, a 4+4 ATX/CPU plugged into your motherboard, and a 24 ATX connector also plugged into your motherboard. You should have sata connectors plugged into all drives, both from the motherboard and from the psu. All fans and coolers should be plugged in as well. Next, reseat the GPU and RAM. Move the ram stick between dimm slots.

I believe all the stuff is plugged in right.  It still will not post, I think it is a broken part. Do you know what part could do this?

Thanks

I would start with the ram. Follow the procedure in my previous post on how to test the ram. If possible, test a second stick, as its impossible to rule out a ram fault without at least 1 working stick. Next, remove your GPU and try booting with the iGPU. You can try testing your PSU with the paper clip method, but that will not tell you if there is a fault with the psu, it will simply tell you if the PSU is able to power on. Testing the motherboard and CPU is a bit more difficult. If you have access to compatible parts, that would be useful. I would start by removing the cpu. Using a magnifying glass, look at the pins on the CPU and make sure none of them are bent. At this point, its either the CPU or Mobo that is most likely broken. Try rmaing the motherboard first.
