Switch to intel?

Hahaha :P I was thinking about making a new thread for this question but I'll just ask it here. Can you, your someone else help me with Intel chipsets? I'm looking at cpu's now and I'm pretty lost since I've always had amd. I don't want to get new ram since I have 4x4 sticks of 16gbs of 1866 ram (earlier I made the mistake of saying 8gbs) but it seems like almost all new Intel boards are ddr4?? Sorry for being a noob haha

well, if you want DDR3 you would need intel Haswell board with socket 1150...

those CPU's are core i5-4460/4590/4690/4690K and core i7-4770/4770K/4790/4790K

If you want to re-use your memory.

Xeon E3-1231-V3 + some decent H97 or Z97 motherboard.

4 cores 8 threads 3.4GHz base 3.8GHz boost.

Its not realy overclockable, however it still offers i7 performance for an i5 price.

The extra threads that come with the Xeon will allready start to come handy in certain new AAA games.

The only thing you might do in the future is upgrading gpu.
