Trouble shooting help please?

Go to solution Solved by tiberiusmoon5,

ah nvm i didnt see your comment before that,

the mobo maybe trying to update from your default drive instead of usb or something.

i was reading a few issues online :P

skip to the version 2303 if not keep doing it in steps

I did a clean install of windows 10 a while back on the system in my signature. However I am still having some nasty issues with it. My first was it was having a hard time seeing my hard drive and booting. I moved to different sata ports, and tried a new sata cable and this seemed to fix the issue for the moment. It still however randomly locks solid when gaming, the screen freezes and I get a steady noise out of the speakers. The reset button will not work in this instance and the only way to fix it is to hold the power button and shut it down. Another time it crashed while I was connecting my Bluetooth headset to it and when I got it back up the Bluetooth was not functioning. I disabled and enabled it and that seemed to get it up again. I have tried to update the Bios unfortunately it keeps saying " Could not verify image". I am not very good at trouble shooting so any advise or programs that you could point me to would be greatly appreciated.

The one in my sig, P8P67 PRO. I am really worried it is the Mobo as the drive seems to work fine and only has 29'000 on hours according to cam. May be time to upgrade after all so a skylake.

Is your software up to date, especially mobo drivers? Have you cleaned and dusted your PC? What are temps?

Since you mention you had troubles with the sata storage, maybe your board is getting issues.

Checked all the drivers and cleaned this comp just a month ago as it has been in storage. Moved to this new house and haven't built the office yet thus was working off my laptop. Temps are fine according to CAM, I have tried to update the Bios but I keep getting an error about it not being able to verify the ROM image.

Well apparently there are two versions of this motherboard mine and a rev 3.1 on the Asus website.bios download page I download and unzip the ROM to a USB, reboot the computer and enter the bios. Go to advanced mode then EZ updater or whatever and click on the USB with the drive attached. Select the file, hit ok and then after a moment throws up the unable to verify image error. There are multiple updates for the bios and I am trying to do the most current one. Should I maybe try an older one then move up to the newer one if that works?

CAM says I have 0402 which doesn't seem possible now that I look as the website says 0804 was the launch one. And the USB was FAT32 I did double check that to be sure.

I am very confident it is the first as the website shows a box prominently showing ver. 3.1 and mine does not show that.

The HDD for some reason.. going to move it back to one of the 6gb Sata connections and see if it doesnt stop that, and it didnt take either of the 3000 updates either like you said.
