Android app question

I'm working on another app for android but I need to do something I've never done before, so I need help.

I want to open the last activity visited by the user before closing the app. When the app launches again, it opens the main activity I set, and this is ok. There's a button here, and when this button gets pressed, I'd like the previously mentioned activity to open (some sort of save progress). Ideas?
