so i have had a nikon coolpix s3400 for a long time now, and it has always bothered me that i cannot record longer than 8 minutes and 11 seconds in 720p 30fps. it is not a capacity issue, since i have a 32gb sd card and it is almost completely empty. it isnt a battery limit, since after i am done recording the battery icon is still at 100%. does anyone know what this problem is, and how to resolve it?

File size limit due to Fat32 or video recording limit?

Get a new camera?

This is what I found from the manual:

Quote

Recording Movies

You can record movies by simply pressing the b (e movie-record) button. The settings

made for still images, such as hue and white balance, are applied when recording movies.

• The maximum file size for a single movie is 2 GB or the maximum movie length for a single

movie is 29 minutes, even when there is sufficient free space on the memory card for

longer recording (E64)

So I guess it't the SD card problem. Camera support it well
