Today, for the first time, my S7 started heating up to extremely uncomfortable temperatures. I had been using a low power charger but last night my phone was running very low and I needed a quick charge. Put it in my pocket this morning and it was fine but at around 9am it started heating up and did intermittently through out the day. I charged it up (with the fast charger, I wasn't home and it was the only one I had), turned off all background apps, and now it has lost 26% battery in the course of an hour and half without me even touching it. Do you think I have a valid reason to contact Verizon (the place I got the phone from)? I have never had a battery go out this bad on me. Is this just like the silicon lottery? It's not the Note 7 so I don't know how well covered it will be.
