Itunes issues

Alrighty so I recently decided to put some music on my Iphone, so I DLed Itunes. I got some error during installation, but it still installed. After some googling I found out it's related to vcredist, which I tried reinstalling and that changed bugger all. Now, the program can start up regardless of that, it's when I try to do smth is when the issues start. When I plug in the phone, the program freezes and I can't do anything. Looked it up, said that I need to disable autosync or whatever in preferences, I go ahead and try to do that, click on preferences, it freezes. Tried reinstalling a buttload of times, disabling its connection to internet via firewall etc etc. Nothing seemed to help. I even found some older versions *cough cough* but those don't install at all due to the error. And I'll be buggered before I try to reinstall windows.
