Hi there :)

How much storage space do you need? The WD My Passport that @Electronics Wizardy suggested is a great choice. You could also cheek out WD Elements Portable if you prefer not to have hardware encryption on the drive.

If you want more storage space you could op for a desktop external drive such as the WD Elements Desktop which can work perfectly fine with your USB2.0 port and provide massive storage space.

Are you using a desktop or a laptop? Mind that USB2.0 speeds may be a bit slow for gaming (depending in the specific game). If you are using a desktop computer the better choice would be to add another internal drive. :)

WD Blue would be a good drive which should suffice for your needs. :)

SATAII's limit is around 300MB/s which is far over the capabilities of a regular HDD so this shouldn't be an issue.

Let me know if you need more info.

Happy to help. :) The speed limitations are roughly as follows: SATAI - 150MB/s, SATAII - 300MB/s, SATAIII - 600MB/s so as you can see many HDDs can even function at full speed even on SATAI ports so you shouldn't really worry about this.

WD Blue is a great drive that is widely used for basic and simple computing as well as in workstations and gaming systems combined with a SSD so you should be good with it.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you encounter any problems. :)
