creating a new user didnt help, but something popped up that didnt before...

also, apparently there is an admin account, presumably created by asus when they shipped it. should i try to delete it or give my account admin privileges?

hmm .. that all doesn't help. Do you have a friend, that knows a lot about computers and might be able to help you? Because it'll take an eternity to figure out your problem like this. The easiest way would still be reinstalling windows ... At least that has a relatively high probability of succeeding ...

mmm, guess ill just do that, pretty much all my stuff except for some games is cloud saved. plus, i havent really installed much for the 1-2 days i have had it. thanks anyways. be back if it works

You don't have to be afraid, just download the the tool from microsoft and follow all the steps : D

 

You can return your laptop and get a new one that actually works : D

they are out of stock, and this is my second one. my first one had a doa battery, and i had to wait for literally weeks to replace it

omg i feel like such an idiot *facepalm x 2million* i just had to do windows key + r and type this:

cmd powercfg.exe -restoredefaultschemes

then you changed something in your powerplans ._. I thought you said you configured them properly : D

 

anyway, happy your issue is resolved now.
