Ive got a 1070 strix in a corsair 230t. My 6700k (stock) is cooled by an evo 212x. Connecting the front intake fans to the strix headers results in silence when idle, but when games start up my rear exhaust and evo fan go berserk. Ideally I'd like to keep my front intake fans connected to my gpu, but the noise when playing games is unbearable. I'm assuming this is caused by pc freaking out when it can only detect two fans? And suggestions on how to fix this would be great.

CPU: I7 6700K 4.4Ghz @ 1.29v | GPU: MSI Gaming X 1070 8GB | MOBO: Gigabyte z170x Gaming 3 | RAM: 16GB 2800Mhz DDR4 Kingston HyperX

SSD's: 240GB + 500GB SSDs | PSU: Corsair CS 550M | COOLER: Be Quiet Silent Loop 240 | CASE: Corsair 400C

The cpu cooler fan depends on your cpu temps anyway, so it would ramp up according to your cpu.

Where do you plug in the rear exhaust?

The rear exhaust is plugged into the closest system fan port to the io and the cpu fan is plugged into opt_fan.

What are your load temps? Have you tried lowering the fans speeds in your motherboard settings?
