Cheap Excel Build

Excel and Financial Analysis ONLY

No gaming, no video editing

CPU bound tasks only

 

I haven't built a PC in years and I have no idea bout the price of parts and value on the desktop side anymore. Can anyone list me a good build for the cheapest you can go (with quad core and a ssd). Thanks alot in advance.

why do you need a quad core for excel and financial work

Cause you need threads and cores when you're running a million lines vlookup with dependent functions and vba macros on the side.

I'd say any i5 quad core non k would be fine. Opens up the upgrade option to non-k i7 later down the road. Honestly have no idea LOL. It runs fine on my i7-6820HQ so I guess it should be fine.
