So for a couple months my PC has been relied annoying me so basically every time I play a game I get random fps drops and they aren't normal drop e.g. Going from 60-50 fps I go from 100 fps to 10 for a couple seconds I don't think it could be anything to do with my hardware because none of it is very old my CPU is an AMD fix 8350 which is a good CPU the only other component that I think it could be is my motherboard which is Asrock 970 EXTREME4 but I have no idea what i could be. I have also looked at maybe some software that could be the problem, but every time look at task manager whileplaying something but there is something that is affecting the CPU. So this where I don't know what to do, do I get a new CPU and motherboard or something else any ideas would be much appreciated

I had that same problem with my Fx 8320 and the same Motherboard.  After some looking up and measuring i figured out that it were the VRM's on the Mobo that were overheating. They went above 100°C with a fan directly next to it. Maybe have a look if that's the problem.

What is memory leakage?

Basically, eorros in game code causing hardware allocations to not be reset automatically. This means certain bits of RAM, are reserved, but not being used.

Most computers automatically detect this, and reset the reservations for hardware resources after a few seconds.

when this happens, it can cause sudden and abrupt frame drops and slow downs, but they normally stabilize a second or two later.

It is problems with the game code, not your PC, that are causing it

What can I use to see the VRM'S temps.

I couldn't find any software tool,  and used a infrared thermometer I had lying around.... But I kind of figured it it the first time when looking in Nzxt Cam while playing or running a stress test. Load periodically went up and down all the time resulting in the graph showing some kind of wave.

The Problem with this motherboard is that they used a 4+1 Design that can't handle the Power Drawn by these Cpu's.  That's also why in the Cpu Support List those Cpu's are marked as "only with a top down blower" ( or some kind of this) ,  because those cool down the surrounding parts,  and also the VRM's.

Another thing you could try is clocking down your CPU until you find a point where it works.  Had to go down from 3.5Ghz with the Fx 8320 to 3.2 GHz to have it run without overheating.

This might solve your problems,  but I would first really make sure,  that this is the problem. Added to that you are not the only one with this problem. In a couple other forums are a hand full of other people with the same problem,  and same Motherboard so it seems pretty convenient that this will we the problem.
