Hi,

I am in the market for a steadicam under £200 to be used with a sony a6300 and 24-70 most of the time. I am also looking to buy a new shotgun mic aswell if anyone has any suggestions. I'd also like to upgrade my camera in the future so it would be nice if the steadicam could support that.

Thanks in advance

Steadicam "future proofing" is tricky to answer, your A6300 and current lens setup weighs X amount, your future camera could weigh 10X or 100X.

And £200 for a steadicam...

As for shotgun mics, what's your budget?

Well I found this model on CVP, but it's designed for compact camera setup that weighs up to half a kg so definitely not suitable for you.

This one, though slightly more expensive would be better suited for you:

Don't ask me for eBay or cheaper clones, I don't know them.

The A6300 body alone weights about .4kg, if you add the weight of the 24-70 lens and other accessories that will be attached to the camera the weight goes well above 1kg.

There not much out there for £200 but I would recommend the Laing P-4S. It has a much wide wider payload range all the way from a GoPro to full size camcorders, and is much cheaper than the comparable Glidecam. I personally own one that I used for years before upgrading to a much larger sled. You won't really be able to mount accessories like a monitor and batteries but with mirrorless cameras you really don't need to. And if you decide to invest in an arm and sled later there's a wide range of cheap ones that are compatable.

Here are some pics of mine with a couple different payloads to show the capacity. The first two are with a cheap vest and arm I was able to borrow from a friend. After a certain weight you need the vest to be able to fly for any more than a few minutes at a time before your arms just get to tired.
