First pc build

Hello mates

This pc will be for my tesis project, and is going to be mainly for 3d modelling/animation (Maya, Houdini, Zbrush, Substance), rendering (V-ray, Renderman), compositing and light gaming.

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K

MB: Asus Strix x99

Cooler: Corsair hydro h100i v2

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 32gb (4 x 8gb) DDR4 2666Mhz

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX

SSD: Kingston HyperX Savage 480 gb

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200 rpm

Video Card: Zotac Gtx 1070 Amp! Extreme 8 gb

OS: Windows 7 Pro OEM 64-bit

PSU:  Corsair RM650i 650W 80 Plus Gold

Monitor: Asus PB278Q

Any advice would be nice. I've done my research but still have some doubts especially with the psu and the cooler.

Thanks

Maybe swap out the cooler for a Noctua ? You could look at an NVMe SSD although that will add to the cost. Also Win 7 over 10 ? Otherwise it looks ok to Me.

Thanks, i will check the noctua coolers and I would love a NVMe but my budget is just enough for all the parts i choose. I went with win 7 because one program that i need is only compatible and fully supported on it.

The Noctua D15S would be my suggestion. It is a very quiet cooler even. It is the single fan version of the D15 but with better compatibility.

Yeah the NVMe SSD's are still pretty expensive compared to regular ones.
