I'm looking for a good PSU that won't die on me in 4 years, I currently have a silverstone from 2011 and its running fine, but what are the differences between this and this

I'm trying to find a power supply that will last me a long time, but won't break the bank.

Get a SeaSonic G-series 550W or EVGA G2 series 550W. Those are affordable and fantastic quality.

I'm looking for a PSU that has plenty of room for upgrading in the future, a 550w is not that.

Then get a 750W version bot honestly, 550W is enough for any single-GPU setup you can get.

Depending on the level of upgrade you are expecting, a 550w can indeed provide you room for upgrading. Can you provide your system specs and your upgrade plans? If you are looking at 1500w, are you planning to stick in four GPUs or something?

BTW, you are trying to find a PSU that won't "break the bank", and yet deciding on one of the most expensive desktop PSU on the market - not for what you necessarily need now, but "future-proofing" into the unknown future...

BIAS WARNING: I'm am the biggest EVGA fan boy ever.

That being said, I feel Corsair PSU's are in general overhyped and overpriced.

I love my EVGA power supplies that I currently have running on 3 builds, one has been alive for going on 4 years now.

As many have said above I don't know what you would need 1500w for, an 850 or so should give you PLENTY for anything none quad SLI nuclear grade stuff.

"Won't break the bank"

Is your bank made of Nokias?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
