Budget GPU Suggestions

I have about $150 for the card and it would be paired with an i3 6100.  I want do be able to play most new games with 60+ fps without having to put the settings on low.  I was considering a gtx 950, would that do the trick or is there something else thats better.

You can get a r9 380 for $150 which even beats a GTX 960

Hopefully you can find 3/4GB cards though, cuz 2GB is getting hard to work with for graphics settings. I only have a 1024x768 monitor and I still got VRAM probs. Can still max my games but don't know for how much longer
