Hi everyone, I built my first desktop about a month ago. Everything has been working great, until today while playing GTA V my computer shut down and wouldn't boot again. I noticed he RX 480 was very hot to the touch, so I took out the gpu and all of the sudden it booted up. I tried putting my RX 480 back in but no luck. I decided to try the gpu in the other PCIe slot, but once again no luck. Does this mean I damaged myu RX 480? or could this be something to do with the motherboard? I'm not too sure what to do about this, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here is my spec list if it helps:

CPU: i5 6600k

Fan: Hyper 212 Evo

Mobo: MSI z170a Gaming M5

RAM: G Skill Ripjaw 16G DDR4 2400mhz

HDD/SSD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM/ Samsung 850 Pro 128GB

GPU: XFX RX 480 OC 1328 (reference card)

PSU: EVGA 650w G2

Do you have decent airflow through the case?  Case and fan setup please.

My GPU recently did the same thing.  I cleaned out my PC of dust and went from 80 degrees to 60 on the GPU.

If you can't boot up with the GPU in, the GPU is done.  RMA time.
