Hey guys I'm looking into building a new computer and i was wondering if a 200 us dollar used GTX 970 would be worth considering for 1080p gaming.

If you can't afford a Gtx 1060, then the 970 is the next best thing.

Well the aftermarket cooled 480's basically cost 10 dollars less than a 1060 if not actually as much as a 1060. My budget for a graphics card is 210 us dollars at best.

Have you looked for used 1060s?

The 970 is still a good card for 1080p gaming. If you can get one for 200 dollars it's not a bad deal imo.

Maybe. Most likely, though, it's not going to catch up until both are very outdated anyway.

The MSI Gaming X 4gb 470 basically costs as much as a used 970 (199 usd). I just cant decide which one i should go with.

It's a hard one yes, since those cards perform pretty similar.

Although the last 0.5GB VRAM on the GTX 970 is on a 32bit memory bus. So basically it's a 3,5GB graphics card. But it performs a little bit better in most games. (Somewhere up to 5 FPS)

I guess I would pick the RX470.

- It's newer card.

- You get a brand new card instead of a second hand one

- It's a true 4GB card instead of 3,5GB
