So today I started to play videogames. And I noticed there is some trouble with my connection. So I called a guy who works for the internet company. So he came and we were testing some things.

So when we were testing with router (Wi-Fi) we get a speed of 6.55mb/s all the way to 4.50mb/s which is quite bad, I should get 10mb/s or atleast 9.5mb/s. So we connect the direct cable, no router just a cable in my PC, and it worked well it went all the way to 9.70mb/s which should be like that. But when we use our router and test it out with cable and Wi-Fi we get a 5.6mb/s or 6.80mb/s.

So we tried to change the channels in router settings, there are from 1 to 11 channels, and we picked the 10th channel and it went all the way 8mb/s any lower channels will drop drastically.

This is a test with router Tenda:

And this is with direct cable, no router (this is how it should be):

Please anyone know the reason why I get a speed of 5,6mb/s with router but I get 9mb/s with direct cable. Any solution?

PS: The guy from internet company, he tried to watch a TV on tablet, it kinda laggs out, like the frames are skipping really quick and audio problem. If this helps.

You are probably surrounded by a lot of other wireless access-points. How many do you see on your phone when you look?

First, change your channel bandwidth to "20" , with 10Mbit internet, you are never going to go above what 20 Mhz bandwidth can provide and it will only degrade and disturb your signal. Keeping your channels smaller when you can is always the way to go!

Other then that, check if the ethernet port has negotiated the right speed to the modem. Also check using a cabled connection to the Tenda router.

Channel 5 is also a bit odd. Did you do a frequency scan and a usage scan using your laptop or mobile phone? If not, that can be a great way to find "quiet" air spectrum so you can set your access-point to channel 1, 6 or 11. All other channels are "in between".

Post is so bugged lol. I would like more informations because I will be sending this to my internet provider guy. Thank you very much.

Not sure what more you want? This is just to test and figure out what your problem is.

Currently you are using a very wide channel (80) but the traffic you are using is very little so it could easily pass over a small channel (20). If there is interference (which I asked you to check) having a very wide channel such as 80 makes you much more sensitive for this, thus setting a smaller channel width can decrease or even remove this noise and give you higher and more consistent speeds.

Hope this helps!
