So when I first purchased my computer I got 8g of corsair ram: CML8GX3M2A1600C9B. I recently decided to upgrade to 16gb so I purchased another pack of the same memory. However I have discovered that the two will not work together. I tested each of the kits separately and together. Separately they work, but together they won't. I noticed that the "revision number" was different between the two packs one was 4.19 and the other 8.18.

I have tried changing settings in the bios, and I even updated my bios to the latest version. Is there anyway to get them to work?

In the bios I noticed that the secondary timings were different between them, I tried matching them but it made no difference.

Well, it looks like you're in the 0.x% club.

Can you not post with both kits in the system? Or are you getting some other error? Are you running each kit in the approrpriate channel slots? Have you tried running in single channel mode?

When both kits are in the system it selects the older of the two kits. I tried the new one on its own and it works. I have tried them in the all the different slots and they work. All four together they will not. mixing one from each kit has me using only 4gb of ram.

Edit: I just tried mixing the 2 dimms and was able to get 8gb to run. Its only when all 4 are in at the same time.
