First PC Build

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum, so bear with me.
I want to build a pair of desktops in October/November for my wife and me. We've never built our own computers before, so it's going to be a new experience and a fun project for both of us to do together.

1. Budget & Location
Our total budget is $5000 US, but I could stretch to $6000 if it's a good deal/upgrades performance well enough. If this doesn't seem like it's enough after reading the whole post, be brutally honest about it because this is our first build and we're not entirely sure what to expect price wise.

2. Aim

We're both very avid gamers. She's a very casual gamer, whereas I'm a very competitive gamer. I'm also planning on streaming on Twitch and making my own videos once these computers are built, so it's ok if the components inside the computers aren't the exact same.

3. Monitors

We both want 2 monitors. No more, no less. 1080p resolution is great, but if we can play on 4K, that would be awesome too as we've never gotten to experience it. Would prefer if the monitors had the option to be mounted to the wall.

4. Peripherals

4 total monitors and 2 copies of Windows.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Right now we're sitting with 1 desktop and 1 laptop, both around 3 years old (my desktop has a GTS 450 graphics card). We want to have our gaming setup with brand new desktops sitting next to each other so we can game together :)

Extra Info
Wireless cards will be a necessity. It's impossible to set our router up for a wired connection in our apartment because of where the outlet is located.
The cases for both PC's need to be the same, preferably with lights inside (it'd be even better if the lights could change colors, I don't know if that's possible or not).

Need at least 2 USB ports on the front, along with a disc drive.

We're curious about using liquid cooling vs fan cooling. I've always thought liquid cooling was pretty awesome sounding, but I've never seen it in person before.

Would also prefer something a little quieter (my current desktop is relatively loud and the case shakes while powered up, so I don't want that anymore).

If you guys have any suggestions or comments, feel free to leave them, and thanks in advance!

Total: 2028$ (US)

Your wife: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/n32FgL

Total: 1530$ (US)

Your wife has a GTX 1060 instead of a GTX 1080

i5 6600k instead of i7 6700k

1TB instead 2TB

750w psu instead of 850w psu

Or you could do both PCS exact the same and it will be around a total of 4056$ (US)

You forgot some of there wishes, like Wireless lan and 4k resolution monitor ;)

it's a good build, but i am just wondering why go with a 850 watt psu?

the system will not even get over 400 watt on full load :/

I didn't notice that until afterwards. Changed it to a 550w and lowered the price by $30

As long as you have picked a 80+ psu then you should be perfectly save :)

And i can't remember the height on the noctua and the width on the phantom 410 but just to be sure that there is enough space, i would check the measurements on those so i wouldn't end up with a cooler i couldn't have in the case :)

Noctua is 6.3", width of the Phantom 410 is 8.43", so it should fit right?

Yeah, it should fit then with no problems at all, unless the case has a cable management room behind the motherboard with a width 2", which it unlikely has :)

The cooler is a bit extreme for a non 'k' cpu. Are you not planning to overclock the cpu ?

The H110 chipset only supports 2133MHz Ram. No real point in spending extra on 3200MHz. Also for a gaming/video editing you should be more than fine with 16GB.

If you want to game at 4K then I would go with the GTX 1080. A 750W psu would allow for SLI although you would need to swap the board to a different one for that.

What sort of games do you both play ? If you have a lot of FPS then I would look at a G-sync screen. Asus do an IPS 1440p 165Hz which is very nice, and it is less taxing than a 4k screen.

Check out Powerline adapters as well for your internet connection. They are much better for online gaming imo. Some of the more expensive ones have passthrough (You don't lose a plug socket) and also wifi built in.
