Office 2007 and Office 2010 run without any issues in Wine. I suggest installing using it with PlayOnLinux, which will automatically download the right version of Wine, the required dependencies and will also create the appropriate shortcuts and file associations.

Office 2013 also works but it has some issues (still usable, though)

Office 2013 and above on Wine and Play on Linux are pretty buggy. If you have an older version, go for it. Anything new is more work than its worth.

If you're willing to sacrifice some battery life, I would run Windows in VirtualBox and enable unified windows. That way you can have an office window operating within your DE.

Personally I'd use a windows vm but if you are unable to do that then MS Office Online is a okay solution if you DESPERATELY had to use office on your Linux computer.
