I am looking to upgrade my current graphics card to something a tad more modern. I am planning to spend at most 300 USD on the card, and would like to know what would be the ideal card to get in that price range.

Current Specs:

AMD FX 4350 4-core @4.2gHz

16gb DDR3

R7 260x

I play games at 1080p, and I play a variety of genres. Anything from strategy to fps to old-school to Minecraft is what I do, so I need a card that is stable for all of those conditions. It plays games at 60 fps no problem, but I would like to get into video game recording/let's plays/etc. because it's something I find fun to do with my old high school friends. And the 260x seems to be the biggest bottleneck. My computer also serves as a basic music and video production machine, running programs like Audacity, MuseScore, and shamefully Windows Movie Maker. I'm looking at getting into indie game development using Unreal 4. I am currently looking at upgrading to the R9 390, but I would like to know other people's opinions on it and other cards. Thank you for your time and thoughts!

The RX460 or 470 would be your best option considering your CPU.

Recording / Streaming would benefit from a better CPU more than a better GPU

Consider an i5-6400, mobo + RAM for just about $270

If your budget accommodates, get that and an RX 460

Well, that's not what my question was, but thank you for the input. 2gb in the GPU doesn't cut it for me anymore. I am quite happy with my processor, and see no reason to change it. I am well aware that Intel is typically better at dev/etc. but I have no interest in dropping the money on it when I don't need to.
