So right now I am painting my room and decided to change my setup. I have 173 dollars and a desk and my computer and speakers. I plan to buy a Linnmon from Ikea and some legs. I will make this an extension from my current desk. I also have my Acer K242HL monitor. I was debating getting another monitor and having a dual monitor setup.  What do you think about a dual monitor setup for my computer. Check my profile for computer specs. If you think I should use the money towards something else like upgrading my CPU. I also was planning on getting maybe some led strips. I just wanted to know what you guys would do in my current situation. I do video editing and photoshop and some video games. Just let me know what you would do in my situation with the money.

Honestly, just make a list of things you "need" i.e. CPU SSD etc. (basically performance improving stuff) that you can afford with that budget prioritize that. Then make a list of stuff that is completely unnecessary i.e. Led strips, second monitor etc. and if you're gonna go with led strips and you don't need rgb just get some led strips that are white and get some clear red/blue/whatever tamiya modeling paint from amazon or like hobby usa etc.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x; Motherboard: Asus Prime X570-Pro ; RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB DDR4 3200 MHz ; Storage: Corsair MP600 500GB, Kioxia 2TB M.2 ; Graphics Card: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra ; CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Platinum SE ; Case: Corsair 4000x White

Honestly depending on what you're doing, I would go with a dual monitor setup. Your PC specs are decent enough that another monitor would be my priority. Though I don't do anything of notable intrest on my PC really, so for work, studying and such dual monitor setup makes a lot of sense.

I was also wondering how well you think a second monitor would run given my current parts.

I also am not good at prioritizing which do you think the most important part would be for an upgrade.

I don't understand how to go about doing a dual monitor setup. Could you explain or link me to a good explanation. Do you usually wall mount dual monitor setups? I am all very new to this.

No worries! If you have any other question feel free to ask! I am more than happy to help! :)

Yea also wondering what upgrade of a part would make the most difference. For example upgrading the CPU or buying a SSD for booting. or more ram. I do plan to do some Flight Simulating later on. I have also heard that that is intensive on the cpu.

If you don't have an SSD go for that for sure! You're CPU is decent, pretty good acutally. An SSD will significatly improve speed of your system.

No that makes sense, I think going with another monitor and some cheaper LEDs that you can paint is a good option then. :) sad to see that the warriors lost that one #BayArea

Now I just need to find a wall mount to fit my budget any suggestions on a wall mount and how to cable manage with a wall mount or to not wall mount becuase its a pain to make a slick wall mount without cables.

you could possibly drill holes in the wall or just put em on the table and paint the stands the same color as the wall :P

Yea I was taking about running the power an video cables from the monitors to the desk if they were elevated by a wall mount.
