DVD and optical drive problems

So I put a DVD into my optical drive and then when it started playing there were large green pixels everywhere and some large pixels left behind by moving objects. it did this with two DVDs I tried and I know it's not the DVDs because I tried them on my PS2 and they worked so it's something with my optical drive, SATA cable, PC, or it's software related. I think it's with my optical drive because it is somewhat old (from the Vista days) but if you have any other feedback or suggestions then fell free to tell me.
