So I have a motherboard the gigabyte ga z170 hd3p http://www.gigabyte.co.nl/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5495#ov

It has  USB 3.1 with USB Type-C, the short question is: what can i do with it?  Is it gen 2? does it support thunderbolt? I'm relatively new to the technology. :P

So can i for example run a tv on 4k at 60hz (through hdmi 2.0),(would i need an adapter or hdmi to usb-C cable)? (which would negate the use of my 750ti?)

Is the type C just the connector? or is it the technology?

And what does Thunderbolt 3 apply to? (is it a cable or a port? and is there a thunderbolt 3 cable? i know that there are thunderbolt cables with the lighting bolt on it, but is there a difference

and if i get for example a caldigit ts2 http://www.caldigit.com/thunderboltstation2/

(if there is anything way cheaper please let me know)

can i for example put an hdmi cable from the hub to my tv, conntect my phone via usb 3.0, connect my headphone and a pc monitor via displayport?

Don't confuse Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1.

Uhm... it just has the usb 3.1 technology also built in, since usb Type-C is backwards compatible.

That device may require a Thunderbolt connection from the computer and not USB.

And while USB type C and Thunderbolt 3 may have the same form factor for the connection, unless specifically written in your logic board's specs, it will not likely support Thunderbolt.
