Hello, so earlier today I noticed my internet being really slow on my computer and I just guessed it was all around my house but more people got home and started playing on their xbox one and computer and are having no problems. So I speedtested on my computer and compared to my brothers and his computers internet was around 12 times faster... I dont know why im computers internet is really slow even with Ethernet it is extremely slow.. Anyone have any ideas why it would be doing this?

I know you said that this occurred before other people got home, but just to be sure, could there have been any other device in the house on the Internet streaming a lot of video or something else that QoS on the router would prioritize over your Internet traffic (or put simply, anything else in the house that would be hogging all of the bandwidth)?

but also - are you on Wifi? Maybe your room doesn't get the same signal as your brother.

You also need to repeat those tests several times to get results you can compare. If you can show your 'net speed is always slower, switch your brother's PC with yours. See if his performance is still better in your room, and your PC is still slower in his room.

Ok o have you checked your data usage?

Some applications push data back and forth in the background, add many of those small apps and you could be looking at alot of data trying to cram through one space.

that = bad.

Use a network monitor to check how much data you are pushing in and out.
