So finally my MSI Geforce GTX 1080 Gaming Z has arrived installed it worked the first time. But the cable that comes with my PSU (Corsair RM750X) is not exactly appealing and of course, that is basically the first thing you see.

For that reason, I want to purchase a custom one preferably Red + Black to fit the colour scheme and it needs to be 6+8 Pin due to the card having a 6 pin connection and an 8 pin.

I did have a look online already for 6+8 but couldn't fine any. Do I need to buy a 6 and 8 pin connector or can I buy them as one?

Thanks for any help, Dexter

You could just buy a 6 pin and 8 pin extension. So you get the appealing end you want.

Bitfenix, Cablemod and alot of others make nice extensions. If  you want more than 2 colors (Like red/black) Cablemod has a configurator to allow you to design your own extensions or complete cable set.

Bitfenix and Cablemod would be perfect, and with cablemod, you might be able to just buy a cable to go from your PSU to the GPU, or a fully sleeved cable kit.

Main Gaming Rig:

Spoiler

Core i7-4770, Cryorig M9i Cooler, ASUS B85M GAMER, 8GB HyperX Fury Red 2x4GB 1866MHz, KFA2 GTX 970 Infin8 Black Edition "4GB", 1TB Seagate SSHD, 256GB Crucial m4 SSD, 60GB Corsair SSD for Kerbal and game servers, Thermaltake Core V21 Case, EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2.

Secondary PC:

Spoiler

i5-2500k OCed, Raijintek Themis, Intel Z77GA-70K, 8GB HyperX Genesis in grey, GTX 750 Ti, Gamemax Falcon case.

I would love a full kit but for £60-£80 I would rather stick with default as you can hardly see them. I am gonna check out bitfenix and Cable mod and will let you know what I come up with.

Powercool also have some, they're sold by CCL or Amazon, since you're in the UK.

On9 cable mod it worked out at $40 for full cables or $20 for extensions. which is about £30 and £15 so the extensions are the better choice. Not sure if I can get them in UK tho. Will check out powercool too

Cablemod I think do sell within the UK, through another retailer. I'll look and get back to you.

Scan sell them in the UK, as well as I think Overclockers.

EDIT: Yep, Overclockers sell them, and so do SCAN.

They only have the large all in one kit or make your own. I will continue to look to see if I can find any on something like Ebay or Amazon

Then powercool extensions from Amazon or CCL would probably be fine for you.

I have also just seen Silverstone extensions which also look quite good. Just need to decide whether to go Red or Black now as cannot find any Red and Black.

Maybe the 6pin in red, and the 8pin in black? Or the other way round. If not, I would say black, to make it look "clean".

@NinjaJc01 So after looking around I did find some cheap ones on "Cables4pc.com" but after searching about them online they seem to have multiple cases of scamming and bad customer service. I then started looking at the Bitfenix cables which are quite pricey at around £10 for the extension I would rather have a product that will last me rather then a broken product.

I ended up finding these too cables:

8 Pin PCI-E Cable (Red and Black)

6 Pin PCI-E Cable (Red and Black)

Do you think they will be worth it? Or shall I look else where?

They are probably worth it, they look good, and are from a good brand.

I will purchase them today then and let you know how they work out. will my PSU cables be ok folded together and cable tied for tidiness or will they get damaged?

They should be fine. Unless it's pure copper and someone sits there for weeks bending it back and forth until it snaps.
