I recently built my own computer in the node 202 case. I love it however the GPU is getting very hot. The problem I think is that the case only has one opening for airflow in the whole chamber which houses the GPU. I have attached two pictures to illustrate my point. I added arrows where the airflow comes out on my card and where the only air vent is located. Does anyone have any advise or do I need to look into a different case?

The Node 202 is meant for a blower style card.

You have a card that just blows it's air where ever it wants. And in a Node 202, it's re using that air to "cool" it.

So it's just breathing in and out with the same warm air.

You could use 2 fans under the gpu to help it suck in cool air. Which would help alleviate some of the issue. If you've got room for a 25mm thick fan, use one. If not, buy a thing 120mm fan and try it.

It should help with the problem before you buy a new case.

Yea you have bought the wrong card for your form factor as the person stated above you GPU is being cooled ( or not so it would appear ) by the air which is already be pushed of the card. You need a blower style which in turn exhausts the warm air directly out the back.
