Is RAM compatible?

Would RAM from an old HP pc fit into a new MSI H81 P33 motherboard? I'm using some old parts and some new parts to create a low-end gaming build.

Well it's hard to say with such limited information. If they're both the same generation of DDR?, primarily.

It depends on the DDR generation it is. To know that, you can use a free application called CPU-Z. H81 requires DDR3. If that HP of yours also has DDR3, you're good to go.
