so i have been thinking about building myself a new pc with a price range somewhere around the 3000 cnd mark and this is what i came up with so far so please let me know what you guys think

Motherboard : ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII FORMULA LGA 1151 Intel Z170

cpu: intel i7 6700k
ram: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16G 2x8 15-17-17-35

gpu  ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING 8GB

psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P2 220-P2-0850-X1 80+ PLATINUM 850W Fully Modular EVGA ECO

storage SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 256GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 & SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ( vertical? is that a must or just an option?)

case:  IN WIN 805 Infinity Black Aluminum / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case (really love this case but might go with something full size and not mid since there really isn't much room for a good custom loop in there .. what do you guys think?) ((Corsair Graphite Series 780T Black Steel ATX Full Tower PC Case ATX is pretty much my second choice ))

so there it is let me know what you guys think, anything that might not work well together or is just a plain bad idea at this point in time ? idk i'm not a pro this is why im here ^_^

You need the number 1 thing, a gpu... 1070 perhaps? (VISSD, is just Samsung marketing on how they stacked memory cells on theyr sdd (vertically 3D), to improve storage per shell). Btw, the PSU is too high for a pc with no GPU :p. Even with one, try 600-650W for future expansion.

my bad guys it's pretty early i just forgot to add it to the component list somehow ..   ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING 8GB is what i was thinking in getting

Seems all compatible and good to build, maybe an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW is better if you can find one.

"SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 256GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 & SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal  "  What do you mean by the x4?

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

Cool! If you don't plan on doing any SLI in the future, you can go with a lower-wattage power supply, such as a 550 W G2 (80+ Gold) or the 650 W P2 if you really want that fancy-shmancy Platinum efficiency.

It uses 4 PCIe lanes from the chipset.
