It would cost less to change the fan. To put it in another room, you'd realistically need to use thunderbolt which is very expensive.

You'd need to run a few USB cables to get enough bandwidth since using one cable then a USB hub would decrease how fast you can transfer data. I suppose that could work if you also ran a headphone and microphone cable (Or at least used a USB to headphone adapter).
