Network Sharing

I have a laptop, and a desktop - on my network. My laptop has an external that i want to share to ONLY my desktop, but there are many others on the network that i dont want having access to the hard drive. I've set up a share, but for the life of me cant share it with anyone except for 'everyone' or only my laptop...

The first picture: Thats how its currently shared. If 'everyone' isnt selected - my desktop cant access it, evens though my desktop is using the 2nd option (the account with @gmail.com) as well as my laptop. In the 2nd picture - Its me trying to find my desktop, to no avail. In the third picture - Is the locations that i can chose from. Should there not be a 'network' location as well where my desktop would show up for selection?

That is already on though

Then is should be asking you to input a user/password when you connect. If you have the same account signed into both it should work without any password.
