I used a PNY 730 on my mobo, then realized it didnt have a displayport, which I needed, so I gave it to a friend. Now im using another card WITH displayport on it, but nothing is posting. My motherboard doesnt have integrated video ports, so I cant plug any video ports anwhere else but the video card. So I ws thinking I didnt uninstall the other graphics correctly, I must have forgot to uninstall it's drivers. But now I sold it to a friend, and nothing is posting. I can't even get to Bios. BTW I'm using an MSI X99. Everything wa working fine until that point when I switched video card. New GPU isnt broken either, tested on friends computer. What do I do?

I had a problem like this and I realized that one of the connectors to the psu wasn't plugged in all the way. So check the connections and see if it helps. Shouldn't have to do with drivers

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

No PSU connector for this one, its a low profile GPU, fans on it are spinning and everything

Thats wierd. If the fans are spinning that should mean its working. Are you sure the display port cable and monitor work properly?

You can also try unplugging the drives and make sure you dont' have any usb devices/optical drive disks/external drives in and see if you can get a post.

If the fans are spinning it means its plugged into the motherboard. It should be connected directly to the power supply aswell

Well some GPU dont need much power, this one, an NVS 310, only needs power from the PCIE

Then you might want to test your slot, you don't want it to be dead.

Just tested with another video card, seems fine, which is weird
