Hello everyone,

I have an old HDD from my previous computer which contains some games, photos videos etc. It was the only HDD in my last computer so it had windows 7 chrome steam and all stuff like that. I am running Windows 10 in my current rig and i wish to add the old one as a new HDD. I have the following queries.

1. Will it be as easy as just putting it in the HDD mount, connecting the wires and on booting i will have it as a Local Disk (x) on My Computer ( just like using a pendrive) or do i have to configure it in anyway?

2. Will it create any problems with the current software in my PC  like Chrome and Steam? Do i need to uninstall all the Installer apps for steam and chrome? and do i have to delete my old steam folder?

3.If i do have to configure the drive can i set it as a separate Local Disk (x) of full 1 tb without it conflicting with my current HDD in anyway? Also please share any article or videos on how to configure it since it may be troublesome to explain the whole process :). Also if i do manage to add it as a single 1 tb Local Disk (x) what will happen to the all the Local Disk ( in my case C, D and E)? Will it be a subdivision to the main Local Disk? or will all the data will go hotch potch in it?

Note- My old rig is completely intact and in working condition. So is there any preparation i should do before i shift it to the new rig to avoid any problems? (like delete the C drive ((windows)) in it?)

Thanks in advance :)

Everything should be fine. Plug it in and Windows 10 will assign a new drive letter to it. You can access the files and they won't interfere with your current programs because your current programs are based on files on your current HDD/SSD.

I edit my posts a lot.
